A transient ischemic attack, or TIA, is something like a "transient stroke" whose symptoms disappear within 24 hours. Brain stroke as such results from a severe acute incontinence of certain parts of the brain. Most often, the result is the embolization of a piece of blood or a part of the corneal lining of the artery into smaller arteries in the brain. TIA is only temporary ("for a moment") and occurs when blood flow to all arterial branches is soon restored.
Short-circuit
Symptoms of stroke may vary greatly. It's about which part of the brain is going to hurt. It is the same as when wires are interrupted in a particular part of a complex machine. One or two circuits will stop working, but everything else is running. In the case of transient ischemic attacks, the so-called "
the momentum of the face - the patient can not smile, sweat his mouth, etc.,
the momentum of the limbs - especially the arms,
speech - sometimes the ability to speak is completely gone, otherwise the sick is unable to express themselves.
It certainly does not mean that if these specific symptoms are not present, it is not a TIA. Any signs of possible acute brain damage should be the impetus for immediate medical assistance.
Next time it might be worse
Sometimes the symptoms will disappear before the rescue with the doctor comes to the patient. This is certainly not a reason to appeal the whole action. If something is happening in brain arteries, it is good to reveal it while there is time. It may seem that a transient ischemic attack does not actually require any treatment because it will go away. However, it is always necessary to investigate the condition of blood vessels that bring blood to the brain and, if necessary, to intervene. The incident may be repeated and may not be temporary for the second time.
The key is prevention
If you are afraid of a stroke and want to prevent it , it's good. How to do it?
Do not smoke.
Monitor your blood pressure , and if it is higher than 120/80, check with your doctor.
Keep a reasonable weight .
Take your cholesterol .
If you have diabetes , follow the treatment and the correct regimen.
Regularly move , even walking makes miracles.
If you suffer from a heart rhythm disorder, do not underestimate it and follow the doctor's instructions.
TIA or transient ischemic attack may be a warning that you are doing something wrong and your health is in jeopardy. Even if it is unpleasant, take it positively. It's a chance to change your life for the better.
