Changing the winter tires is not worthwhile

Changing from summer tires to winter should definitely not underestimate. Summer gums lose their effectiveness already around seven degrees above zero due to the natural solidification of their blend. The danger may be threatening now, during the morning and night hours.

Winter tires have a softer mixture that has the best properties at temperatures below 7 ° C. Tires are better suited on roads covered with snow and ice than the best summer tires. They do not turn around, they do not slip, and they do their job better. Winter tires are legally marked by a pictogram showing the rock and snowflake.

Driving in winter on summer tires in a bad climate is a risk not only because of a possible fine, but also because of the safety of the car crew and the surrounding traffic. Problems can also arise with regard to covering the damage caused in the event of an accident which the insurance company does not have to reimburse in the case of unassembled or slipped tires.

These days, the ideal time to change tires before the service overflows with clients and becomes legal.
The law imposes an obligation to have winter tires in the car when it is in between
1 November and 31 March, and there is a continuous layer of snow, ice, frost or on the road, or it can be assumed that weather conditions can occur on the road during the journey. "Also be aware of the winter winter signpost that puts unconditional winter tires on selected segments," remarks Michal Knor (Auto Kelly).

For violation of the obligation to use winter tires under prescribed conditions, police officers may impose a fine of CZK 2,000 in the block management. If driving on unsuitable tires could endanger the safety and smooth running of the road, police officers are also entitled to prohibit the driver from driving further.

It is not possible to have winter tires on only one axle. "The law clearly states that vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of not more than 3 500 kg must have winter tires on all wheels. If you travel exceptionally and you want to save, we recommend year-round tires, "says Michal Knor. The law also defines the minimum winter tread depth, which must be at least 4 mm. However, the law does not apply to the reserve. In the event of an emergency, you can use the summer.

As the simplest form of purchase, we recommend using the selected e-shop of a specialist dealer. Ideally, choose one where you deliver goods to the nearest stone branch of the same store. Where, moreover, they guarantee the proper storage of tires and that their production date does not exceed the statutory limit, after which the tire may no longer be sold as a new one (tires age and time not only loss of tread).
