How does a hormone of happiness arise in your body - and you have enough of it?

The amino acid that stands behind our serotonin or the hormone of happiness is called 5-HTP. This essential substance, reminiscent of the name of a distant planet, is unique. If you do not have enough of it, your psyche may suffer. We know how to deliver it to the body, and naturally.

Deficiency affects mood

The whole name of penta-hydroxytryptophan or 5-HTP is a substance that is produced as a byproduct of amino acid transformation of L-tryptophan in the body and prevents the formation of serotonin . It has been shown that as the years go by, the level of 5-HTP decreases. Thus there is less of the amount of serotonin in the body.

And the inadequate production of serotonin may be our weak psychological resistance and nervous lability. If family or work problems are added to this, mental anxiety and strong emotional strain are added together and everything is signed on our psyche. In the end, we are so psychically exhausted that at night we will not be able to fall asleep and begin to feel really at the bottom.

Main benefits of 5-HTP

Serotonin is also responsible for mood regulation, influencing pain perception and contributing to the quality of sleep. 5-HTP is therefore very beneficial to our health.
It improves the mood.
Mild stress and anxiety.
Provides good sleep.
Reduces the frequency of migraine attacks.
Reduces appetite.

Source from Africa

5-HTP is commonly taken in the diet. Mostly, however, this compound is present in the seeds of the West African shrubs of Griffonia simplicifolia . Seed extracts are therefore used to make food supplements. However, it is always necessary to consult a specialist on the dosage of such a preparation. The metabolism of this substance in the body, as well as other dietary supplements, depends not only on the sex and weight of the individual, but also on the health status or the nature of its problems.

At present, scientists are investigating the therapeutic effect of 5-HTP on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, or on attention deficit and hyperactivity in children - ADHD syndrome. If the results turned out well, there could be a new, more natural, medicine to treat these diseases of the nervous system in the future.
