Omega-3 fatty acids - the fats you want in your body!

If fat is said, most people will recall the word harmful. Omega-3 fatty acids are fats that help prevent heart and blood diseases. Not only do they reduce triglyceride levels and regulate cholesterol. Why are these acids so important and how do they benefit us?

Omega-3 fatty acids are substances that our body can not produce itself. We have to accept them from food. Types of omega-3 fatty acids are several. DHA and EPA have been shown to be most effective in lowering cholesterol levels and preventing heart and vessel diseases. They are commonly found in fat sea fish and nuts. There are also many fish oil products with a fixed amount of DHA and EPA. They deliver the required amount of omega-3 acids every day.
