The one who loved you is a comedy-tuned family detective with a Christmas atmosphere from Karlovy Vary, Cheb and Boží Dar. However, the detective is not a member of the forensic team, but members of his family (wife, sons, mother, and family impractical medical practitioner) are trying very untraditionally to get to the truth and to investigate his last case and his mysterious deaths. He Himself - Cap. Kalina - he is always at hand as a spirit present in this world. During the quest, there is an unexpected escapade of humorous events and random peripetias that complicate their efforts to get to the truth.
Jan Pachl, director, explains: "The one who loved you is a Christmas comedy, and a family film that anyone can watch, from five-year-old to eighty-year-old grandmother (perhaps a century old, I hope). They should come to their lovers of detectives because there's a detective line there. But also people who like good Czech actors (we really have the best ones) and also those who like a good movie. Václav Postránecký: "I do not know what it is that Honza thinks that the gray brain cells that decorated Hercula Poirot might be found in my head as this is the second detective I'm doing for him.
