Miraculous berries
Few calories, lots of nutrients and antioxidant effects. They all offer blueberries, which are rightly amongst the fruits that protect the heart and the blood vessels. It may especially be a high content of substances called flavonoids. These antioxidants protect cells from damage by free radicals, aging and other harmful changes. Blueberries also have anti-inflammatory effects. And what exactly do they do?
Thanks to antioxidants, blueberries contribute to lowering the level of "bad" LDL cholesterol and protecting the blood vessels.
They support the drop in high blood pressure.
Many studies also confirm their beneficial effect on blood sugar levels.
Composition that will appreciate the body
Antioxidants, however, are not the only ones that offer blueberries. From one portion of these fruits (about 150 grams) the body gains:
4 grams of fiber,
vitamin C (approximately a quarter of the recommended daily dose),
vitamin K (more than one third of the recommended daily dose),
manganese (a substance important for the metabolism and protection of vascular walls).
Blueberries contain more than 80% water and are combined with pleasantly sweet tastes as ideal as a part of a variety of dishes as well as a separate snack.
How many blueberries do you enjoy?
An extensive study examining the benefits of blueberries to the cardiovascular system states that we should put this fruit into the diet regularly. In the condition of the heart, the blueberries are positive at least three times a week. Only through regular consumption can this forest fruit contribute to a significant reduction in the risk of heart attack - up to 34%.
A daily dose of 50 grams of blueberries administered for eight weeks may reduce blood pressure by 4-6%.
Regular consumption of berries also helps some brain functions and slows the aging process.
After their physical activity, bilberries contribute to muscle regeneration.
