In Prague Zoo, another foal of precious horse was born

On Thursday night at the Prague Zoo was born a horse of the Prevalski horse; in the order of 236th since 1932, when the Prague zoo started with breeding of this kind. The new addition - this time the stallion - is fine and under the close supervision of Mother Jessica.

"Jessica Mare, born in Prague, belongs to experienced mothers. The newly born stallion is her fifth litter, she drinks, she keeps her on every step and she keeps it very carefully, "
said Jan Marek, the zoo-breeder curator at the Prague Zoo, adding: " At least half a year, the young will stay in the Prague herd, then we will move to the stallion of the group in Dolni Dobrejov. "

According to the IUCN Red Book, Prevalski's horse falls into an endangered category; in nature, he died in the late 1960s and survived only by breeding in human care. The Prague Zoo has already transported 27 horses to Gobi home in Mongolia, and another transport is scheduled for June 19th.
