Peirani, Barron, or Christian McBride Big Band. JazzFestBrno finishes

After the sold out concerts of Avishaie Cohen, Brad Mehldau, Donny McCaslin, Miroslav Vitouš, the 17th JazzFestBrno festival is nearing its conclusion. It is decorated by renowned artists from the United States and our continent.

The final part of the festival was launched on Sunday, April 15 at the Husa na stíně Theater, the concert of the Israeli trio Shalosh and the quintet of the French accordionist Vincent Peirani . His latest recording, Living Being, does not look like anything he has ever heard before. "In Peirani's tracks, the gap between composing music and improvisation is disappearing, the difference between classical harmony and jazz rhythms. It's not an imitation, it's the original one on which each participant has his own unique share, " says the art director of the festival Vilém Spilka.

On Sunday 22 April, American singer Lori A. Williams will perform at the Sono Center and the second concert of the evening will be given to the band OZ Experience by drummer Omar Hakima . It fuses rock, jazz and jam into an appealing musical collage. The band follows the successful Trio of Oz, which a few years ago became aware of a large number of fans who offered sophisticated yet listening music. Three days later, jazz piano fans will meet one of the great premiere in Brno. The solo recital was made by the legendary Kenny Barron in the Beseda House. The American pianist was included in the American Jazz Hall of Fame and won the "Best Pianist Award" six times by the Jazz Journalists Association. Kenny Barron is simply a legend, and this year he celebrates a magnificent seventy-five. In splendid form it is still present despite the time. As a master of perhaps the most difficult musical discipline. The following evening will be the students of JAMU Jazz Performing Arts Department , who will perform at the Theater in Eagle.

The closing point, or in this case, the exclamation point, will be Christian McBride Big Band for the 17th year of the festival. He earned this year's Grammy Prize for his second album, and he can boast a 100% success in this prestigious poll since he also took the gold recorder years ago for his debut album. "We can expect virtuoso performances by all band members at the bigbandu concert by Christiana McBride, but he is sure that the band will not steal the show. Its control of the instrument is almost absolute - it looks like it's the simplest and most natural thing in the world. His craftsmanship is admirable, but on top he adds charisma and unceasing energy. Just the attributes that go to the concerts, " Spilka said.
