Activity level tells how ticks are dangerous

If you're planning a vacation in the countryside, usually we are interested in what meteorologists predict the weather. Not everyone already knows that Czech Hydrometeorological Institute also publishes a useful prediction of tick activity.

Lurking danger

Risk ticks depend, as it would seem, only the total number of ticks that are present on the site. Experts also talk about the so-called activity of ticks. What is their activity, the more ticks at the moment ready to attack the host, whether it be man or beast. In addition to the risks that they bring home with them uninvited companion, so increases the risk of infection of tick-borne diseases such as tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme borreliosis.

Weather twice a week

Because the activity of ticks largely dependent on the weather, publishes Czech Hydrometeorological Institute in cooperation with the National Institute of Health's current forecast, expressed on a scale of one to ten, and every Monday and Thursday, usually from April to October. Part of the predictions are also useful recommendations:
S lable 1 and 2 (low risk): for the nature, choose clothing made ​​of smooth bright fabrics. Evening and morning, carefully examine the whole body, or remove the tick.
Grades 3 and 4 (moderate risk): Before exploring Apply repellent, naturally free to sit or lie down. Do not forget to return the view.
Grades 5 and 6 (medium risk): In addition to the use of repellent and repeated examinations of the body experts advise not to enter into the bushes.
Grades 7 and 8 (high risk): Warning is next to bushes extended to herbaceous vegetation, especially on the edge of the forest, waterways and leafy copse.
Grades 9 and 10 (highest risk): The smallest risk of tick infestation threatens the movement along the paved roads. In deciduous and mixed forests outside such paths rather not enter at all. Repellent and inspection bodies are commonplace.
